"It was very good, and people commented on how lovely it was to be able to walk around without rushing," said one of the organisers, Mrs Susan Sanders, who was tending to plants at the gardens this week.
"In previous years it was a first-in, first-served basis, and people queued and queued and they were two and three deep trying to look at the plants."
Bookings were made necessary this year due to the COVID pandemic, with each slot lasting an hour.
"In the past people have become a bit frustrated, so it was nice for them to be able to browse for an hour and take their time," said Mrs Sanders.
Mrs Sanders said that any money raised would go towards buying something for the Orange Botanic Gardens.
"We get word from council on what is needed, or we might get something like a statue, a seat or a fountain; we haven't decided yet."
The plant sale is on November 14 and 15 at Orange Botanic Gardens propagation area.
Bookings are essential.
