The $511,087 grant, which was handed to the Orange Show Society on Tuesday, will allow the committee to complete the Naylor Pavilion with the installation of new toilets and cafeteria facilities.

"There's more work to be done on the Showground and I just hope we can keep on working and striving to get the Showground up to a picture of what it was like years ago," Orange Show Society president Peter Naylor said.

Mr Naylor said the Show Society's next priority was to rebuild the large circular ring that had taken up a sizeable portion of the site but could not be replaced until drainage issues had been dealt with.

Orange Showground is one of six showgrounds in the region to receive a funding boost as part of the NSW Government's COVID-19 stimulus program.

Also on the receiving-end of funding allocations were Peak Hill Showground, Bedgerabong Showground, Molong Showground, Cudal Showground and Eugowra Showground.

NSW Nationals Upper House MP Sam Farraway was on hand to deliver the funding boost to the Orange Show Society with a comically-oversized cheque.

"I know that Peter and the Orange Show Society have worked hard over many years to ensure that Naylor Pavilion will provide new opportunities for the Orange Show, and also for other events across the region and it is just amazing to be able to see this funding come through," Mr Farraway said.

Orange City Council Mayor Reg Kidd said that the funding announcement was a game changer for the future of the Orange Showground.

"With toilets and a cafeteria area, we will be able to utilise Naylor Pavilion more often and open up this great space to attract even more events to the region."
