The 22-year-old graduated from Kinross in 2016 after a five-year stint with its cricket program, before setting sail for a gap year at England.
While he didn't visit Europe with the intention of playing cricket, the fast bowler was snapped up by a side called High Wingham and he spent his time in the UK showing the Poms how it's done.
When he returned to Australian shores after a one-year stint overseas, Britton enrolled at the University of Wollongong to take on a degree in business while juggling cricket on the South coast with his studies.
But, after COVID-19 moved classes from campus to online, Britton returned to Orange to work in real estate but wasn't sure where he'd spend his summer playing cricket.
After a few conversations with his mate Josh Doherty, Britton was convinced to join Cavaliers in the Bathurst Orange Inter District Cricket and the new recruit made an enormous impact in the side's first-up win over Centrals, taking five wickets in a gutsy victory.
"I came back to Orange and really didn't know who I was going to play with," Britton said. "Josh [Doherty] told me they [Cavaliers] were a really good group of boys who enjoy their cricket.
"I know Matt Corben and Bailey Ferguson prior to coming across so I jumped in at training and here we are."
The triumph over Centrals was one Cavaliers expected to produce but things were looking a bit shaky at 4-11.
"We probably didn't get off to the start we would have liked with the bat," he said.
"But it's pleasing for all of us knowing the lower order can get the job done. They really gave us the help we needed."
It's early days but after coming within one game of a BOIDC premiership in 2019-20, Britton speaks for the whole roster when he says the goal is to shake up the competition: "We're playing to win but we also want to enjoy ourselves."
The towering quick says Cavaliers are primed for a two-from-two start to the summer but won't be taking any opponent lightly.
"It only takes one ball to get the best batter out ... we won't be overlooking anyone."
Play begins at 1pm at Bathurst's George Park.
