A man was given a nine-month jail sentence for driving while disqualified when he faced Orange Local Court last week.

Jermaine Benn Hendrickse, 45, of Rosedale Place, was disqualified from driving from 2013 until May 17, 2025, when he was caught driving in Margaret Street on April 13 this year.
Hendrickse had already been disqualified from driving nine times when was stopped by police at 11.35am for a random breath test and he told police he did not have a driver's licence.
He was arrested and during a search police found 0.23 grams of heroin.
Hendrickse was fined $220 for drug possession and he was given a total jail sentence of nine months with a six-month non-parole period until March 29, 2021, for driving and for failing to appear in court on July 13.
He was also given another 12-month driving disqualification that will start when he's released from jail.
