COVID-19: NSW records ninth-straight day of no locally transmitted cases

Two returned overseas travellers in hotel quarantine have however been diagnosed in the 24 hours to 8pm Saturday night, bringing the total number of cases in NSW to 4,045.

There were 8,305 tests reported in the 24-hour reporting period, compared with 10,334 in the previous 24 hours.

NSW Health wanted to thank the community for all they have done towards reducing COVID-19 numbers and continue to ask people to remain vigilant and "come forward for testing immediately if symptoms like a runny nose, scratchy throat, cough or fever appear".

NSW Health is treating 51 COVID-19 cases, including three in intensive care, none of whom are being ventilated. Eighty per cent of cases being treated by NSW Health are in non-acute, out-of-hospital care.

It comes as the NSW Government announced public servants across the state will begin returning to work in the office in coming weeks, as part of a COVID Safe transition.

Flexible work arrangements, including staggered start and finish times, will be in place to allow as many workers to return to their offices in a COVID-Safe manner, providing a major boost for the Sydney economy.

Due to COVID-19 public health orders and the application of the four-square metre rule the number of employees returning to work across Government will differ depending on the office spaces available.
