Back in June, there was a Letter to the Editor headed :"Where's Phil: Is it rude to leave out our state member?" (CWD, June 16, 2020).

That related to Phil Donato not being invited to the official opening of an overhead bridge in Orange.
Last week saw the official opening of the new DPI building in Orange; the most significant building constructed in Orange in decades.
It was built at taxpayers' expense. And where was Phil?
I have now read, to my complete amazement, that Phil Donato was unable to attend the opening of the new DPI building this week. Why? Because good old Nationals' Sam Farraway only sent him an invitation by text (of all methods) on the night before the opening.
I note that the Nationals' Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke was in attendance presumably she didn't receive an invitation by text on the night before.
In all probability, she received a nice official invitation by letter many weeks beforehand.
When will Bathurst-based Sam Farraway learn that the citizens of the Orange electorate expect that their elected Member of Parliament, Phil Donato, be treated with the decency and respect his position demands?
The treating of Phil Donato in this fashion is an insult to the people of Orange.
No one appreciates grubby political games.
