Central West Police District Chief Inspector Peter Atkins said police charged the teenager from Orange on Saturday with having an offensive weapon with the intent to commit an indictable offence and assault.
He said the teenager was refused bail by police.
However, he appeared in court on Sunday and was granted bail to appear in the Orange Children's Court on September 21.
In a separate incident another boy, 14 from Orange, was arrested and charged with domestic violence and breaching bail in Orange on Saturday night.
He was refused police bail but was granted bail in court on Sunday to appear in the Orange Children's Court on September 17.
Chief Inspector Atkins said police also charged two men over unrelated domestic violence incidents in Orange on Saturday night.
He said a man, 29, from Bathurst was charged with domestic violence, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and resisting arrest after an incident at a property on Bathurst Road.
And a man, 29, from Canowindra was charged with breaching an AVO.
Police will allege the incident occurred in an Orange licensed premises.
Both are to appear in Orange Local Court on September 3.
And he said six drivers were charged for separate drink and drug driving offences across the region on the weekend in a police crackdown, Operation Chrome.
One of the drivers was charged with a mid-range drink driving offence in Orange.
