She died in Silverwater Women's Correctional Centre last Sunday.
A NSW Police spokesperson said the death was not considered suspicious.
Ms Gurney was charged with the murder of her three-year-old daughter on August 15, 2019 after the child's death on August 1.
"A report will be prepared for the Coroner following the death of a 41-year-old woman at a correctional facility at Silverwater on Sunday, August 9," the spokesperson said.
