I am saddened and dismayed at the proposed removal of 430 trees for a sports complex at the old Country Club golf course at Bloomfield.

In these days of climate change it's an outrage.
Not everyone wants a sports complex, it's a waste of ratepayers money, even with the Government grant.
This area could have been preserved as a wonderful green space for Orange. Not all the trees in the area are radiata pines - labelled "feral" by Reg Kidd.
There are Eucalyptus, deciduous trees and other varieties of evergreen trees - some really lovely specimens.
These beautiful, mature trees provide shade, shelter and habitat.
It will be many years before any trees planted around the complex will be mature.
I bet they won't be planting 430 more trees.
