Clever Cookie Academy director Peita Mages said she has prepared HSC trial packs to help students tackle the exams.
"We want to be able to teach students strategies on how to approach questions and how to best prepare to sit the HSC trial," she said.
"We have set out weekly activity goals for students to complete because it's about working smarter not harder."
"We also upload live sessions on our Facebook page and we're in the process of fixing our website to include our holiday masterclasses which has had a lot of interest from students outside of the Central West."
As a former head teacher of English, Mrs Mages said some students tend to think that there isn't a way to study for the subject.
"When I was a teacher, I used to make sure the students know how to approach the exam and have a game plan," she said.
"I was awarded the Minister's Award for Excellence in Teaching recipient in 2018 because the students had outstanding HSC results.
"I believe this is because I helped them focus on every aspect of the paper."
Mrs Mages said the academy is a private business that assists nearly 200 students from primary school through to university.
"We have completed the COVID Safe Plan and we have a staggered timetable for students to attend the lessons," she said.
"During COVID-19, we moved the classes onto Microsoft Teams and we didn't miss any lessons, it wasn't ideal but we definitely made it work."
