Western NSW regional manager for Business NSW, Vicki Seccombe, said Tuesday's changes followed what they had sought.
She said it would boost the confidence of tourism and hospitality operators in Orange with the funding in place until March 28.
"There's a long time between now and March. It will help them work around the ebbs and flows of [tourism business]," she said.
"The extension and targeted changes will support those industries most heavily impacted by restrictions and consumer demand, as well as providing much-needed confidence for businesses to plan for the next six months."
JobKeeper will be cut from $1500 a fortnight to $1200 for full-time workers and $750 for part-time workers. It will drop to $1000 [full time] and $650 [part-time] in December.
Businesses will have to show they qualify for each period of the subsidy payment.
Ms Seccombe said this would lead to extra work for businesses.
