The drive-through testing service will be station at Dr Ross Memorial Recreation Ground on Monday July 27 and will be operational for four hours.

There are no known cases of COVID-19 in Molong. Nearly 11,000 people have been tested by the mobile service in the past month.

Molong will be the 14^th location in the LHD's southern sector to receive the service, having already been at the town's recreation ground in May and other places like Oberon, Blayney, Rylstone, Wellington, Forbes and as far out as Bourke.

"We need to keep testing people, so we can stay on top of COVID-19 as the general restrictions around movement start to be decreased," Director of Public Health Priscilla Stanley said.

"COVID-19 tests are always available through GPs and our hospitals."

The testing service will be set up from 10am next Monday at Dr Ross Memorial Recreation Ground, entry via Edward Street.

The service is a drive through service so members of the general public don't get out of their cars.

The LHD's staff will approach the vehicles and conduct a short assessment and take down the details of those being tested.

During the test, a swab from the back of the throat and then the back of the nose is taken. Test results will take about 48 hours to be known.

"The service is free of charge, and you don't need a referral or appointment to attend," Ms Stanley continued.

"If your test is negative, you can request to get those results by text message even faster.

People who are tested are asked to self-isolate until they get their results."

COVID-19 symptoms include fever, a sore or 'scratchy' throat, a cough, runny nose, shortness of breath, tiredness and muscle aches.

Forty-six people living in the district have been confirmed with the disease.
