Paramedics rushed to the house in Abercrombie on Tuesday morning after receiving a triple-0 call for help.
Three paramedic crews from Bathurst responded to the call just after 11.40am and arrived to find a man in his 60s suffering a serious laceration to his right foot.
He had lost a significant amount of blood as a result of the injury.
Paramedics treated the wound, stemmed the blood loss and provided the man with replacement fluids.
Once stabilised by paramedics, he was transported to Bathurst Base Hospital by road ambulance before being flown to Orange Hospital for surgery.
Superintendent Brad Porter from NSW Ambulance urged people to exercise extreme caution when using power tools.
"Power tools can inflict potentially life-threatening injuries," Supt Porter said.
"It was fortunate in this instance that effective treatment provided by paramedics has resulted in a good outcome for this man.
"While we've had a good outcome for this patient, unfortunately these sorts of injuries are not uncommon in our region.
"We'd like to remind the public to exercise caution and common sense when using power tools."
