Firefighters received a triple-0 call at 3am on Wednesday with reports a car was on fire at the back of a business on Lords Place.
Fire and Rescue NSW Orange Station Officer Brad Monico said crews initially feared the fire had spread to the business.
"It was out the back of Orange Eye Care Centre on Lords Place and there was large volumes of smoke ... initially I was anxious it had spread to the building," he said.
When crews arrived on scene a Toyota Camry parked right beside the back of the business was on fire.
"It was well alight when we got there, it was totally destroyed," Station Officer Monico said.
"It took about 10 minutes to extinguish."
At this stage the cause of the fire is unknown, however, police were also called to the scene and are now investigating.
If you have any information on this incident call Crime Stoppers on 1800 3333 000.
