A man whose fingerprint was found on a TV after a house in a rural area was broken into has been convicted in Orange Local Court.

Nathan Douglas Cole, 30, of West Street, Grenfell, was sentenced for a break and enter at the house in April 2019.
He was also sentenced for three breaches of an Apprehended Violence Order that was in place to protect a woman in Orange.
The breaches of the no-contact AVO were committed via social media while he was interstate and he handed himself into police on his return to Orange.
Solicitor Rebecca McIlveen said in regard to the break and enter Cole was drinking with friends when one of them said a nearby resident owed him money.
She said they group then went to the property to retrieve the money.
The occupants weren't home and when they returned they discovered people had been in their house and the TV was outside.
Police found Cole's fingerprint on the TV.
Cole was given a nine-month intensive correction order for the break and enter.
The order is a community-based custodial sentence and Cole must participate in rehabilitation, abstain from alcohol and not enter the road where the house was at.
He was also given three 15-month community correction orders for the AVO breaches.
