While the Barbs never lifted the Midwest Cup premiership trophy between 2015-2019, Britt - along with co-coach Ben Gosper - built their side up to be perennial contenders year after year.
Britt's adult footy career started with a stint at the Tigers' SG Ball side in Sydney and from then on, the elusive back bounced from CYMS to Blayney to Barbarians and at 28 years of age, will return to the men in green to try to crack a spot in Daniel Mortimer's top flight side while coaching the reserves alongside Ben Gosper.
The hole that Britt has left at Barbarians is an enormous one and while his old club will miss his his turn of pace, agility and leadership, CYMS will welcome it.
"I'd like to crack the first grade side... that'd be ideal," he said.
"I had a bit of an inkling to test myself in group 10. It's a good time to go back now while I'm still in good health."
"We were happy to run out for the first grade side in the pre-season knockout if we could but Benny and I decided to play with the reserve grade guys to get a look at the team. We've only had the one hit-out so far."
CYMS went on to win said pre-season hit out as they took down Hawks in the Bathurst knockout and cemented themselves as a side to look out for. Britt spent the majority of his career at Barbarians in the second receiver position and although he kicked off his career as a fullback, he feels at home in the number six jersey.
"It's really fun... we're just having so much fun," Belmonte said.
"Five-eight's my preferred spot," he said.
"I was in fullback at Tigers back in the day but so was Jamess Tedesco," he laughed.
Britt and Gosper are certainly a close-knit duo and the two have an interesting dynamic that allowed them to be successful coaches at Barbarians.
"Benny brings the group together... everyone loves him," he said.
"He'd be the good cop and I'd be the bad cop. I'd be the one to pull someone up and Benny's the real people person.
"And defensively, there's no one better to play outside of."
It's no surprise Britt's moulded himself into one of the best players in the Midwest Cup competition over the last four seasons and will now take on a step-up in competition as he joins Group 10 for the 2020 season.
Britt and Gosper will hopefully kick-off their campaign in mid-July as that's the planned return date for grass roots rugby league.
CEO Linore Zamparini will lead a meeting tonight that will encompass spokespeople from all Group 10 clubs as the sides look to land on an abbreviated format that's been decimated by the sweeping coronavirus crisis.
The meeting commences at 6.30pm.
