Central Caluela Motor Lodge owner Colin Longman said the fall in visitor numbers has drastically reduced room occupancy.
"Previously, we had between 70 to 80 per cent rooms filled but now we're lucky to get between two and three per cent," he said.
Mr Longman said he started to refurbish the rooms but has put that on hold.
"We stopped renovating the rooms because we would rather spend the materials to renovate through an income rather than potentially borrowing the money," he said.
Having owned the motel for 40 years, Mr Longman is unsure of the further damage the pandemic may cause to the business.
"I have never seen anything like this before and we can't bounce back until the restrictions are lifted so we have to live with it for the time being," he said.
Best Western Ambassador Orange owner Renee Cullis said she has been processing several accommodation booking cancellations as far as October.
"We had a lot of bus trips from sporting events cancel which means we are $25,000 out of pocket per bus," she said.
"It is a challenge working in isolation and I haven't had a day off since the pandemic hit."
Mrs Cullis said nine staff members have signed on to the JobKeeper initiative but she is worried about how businesses in Orange are coping with the pandemic.
"We get a lot of produce from local growers and butchers and I feel for the family-owned businesses," she said.
