'We won't survive without crowds': Hawks' president Mark Johnston.
'There's more to worry about than footy': Bears' president Damon Taylor.
Taylor's input came on Wednesday with the Blayney Bears' head honcho weighing in on the possible return of grass roots footy in the Central West from July 18 onwards.
"I would love to see Group 10 up and running but I can't see how they can make a decision at this point in time," Taylor said.
Despite Taylor's trepidations, making a decision right now is exactly what the board plans to do.
Group 10 CEO Linore Zamparini will meet with clubs on Wednesday night to decide the future of the competition and there's certainly some doubt about its feasibility, especially in the wake of Group 3's cancellation on Monday.
Not only are there a host of rules and regulations that could change between now and July 18, Taylor's got his own business to worry about as the Royal Hotel Blayney is also the footy club's major sponsor.
"I've got a pub to worry about and I know plenty of players are more worried about their own businesses than footy right now," he said.
"I can't see the pub trading unrestricted for another four months and that's being generous."
The continuation of Group 10 without crowds is something that's being spoken about as a possibility but like many others, Taylor thinks those are pipe dreams.
"If we couldn't get a crowd to the footy how are we going to fund the season?," he said.
"If there's no crowd income, who's going to pay for the referees and the insurance when we can't raise the money to do that. It's hard for a small-town club like us."
The NRL's just pencilled in a May 28 return date and while that's a big coup for rugby league fans throughout the country, it doesn't mean grass roots footy is equipped to do the same.
"They can play in front of no one and still and still make money," he said.
"I'm all for Group 10 getting things up and running at some stage but at the moment, I don't think it's feasible.
"I don't know what the rest of the committee thinks and I haven't thought about it too much."
Group 10 will meet on Wednesday night to decide the fate of the competition this winter.
