Orange Health Service staff enjoyed a free coffee at Orange hospital on Tuesday thanks to Newcrest Cadia funding.
More than 1000 cups of coffee were expected to handed out to staff during the day from the Byng Street Coffee Cart on site.
Cadia acting general manager Aaron Brannigan said it was part of Cadia's overall community funding commitment to help out the region during the pandemic.
That has already seen Cadia provide daily meals to staff in the hospital's Covid-19 team and now it has instigated a free coffee day.
"It was a workforce-driven initiative that we should do a thank you day at the hospital," he said.
Cadia paid the Byng Street Cafe for all the coffees served during the day.
He said the offer was open to all staff throughout the hospital, Bloomfield hospital and allied health units in the area.
"We were working with Byng Street Cafe. They put on extra staff for the day to support it," he said.
Mr Brannigan said 311 cups had been served by 9.30am with more than 1000 likely to be consumed.
He said the funding for hospital staff was also helping support Orange catering firms.
