The clock is ticking for a handful of Barbarians' veterans as captain-coach Jake Kelly suggested some of them are staring down the barrel of a number eight or ten guernsey if footy doesn't kick back off soon.

"If this virus keeps up any longer, I think most of us will go back as front rowers," Kelly laughed.
The good news for the Barbarians and all Central West rugby league players is that there's been a return date set by NWSRL as July 18 looks to be the goal. That will be discussed further during Group 10's meeting on Wednesday where clubs will discuss plans for the 2020 season.
While the Barbs haven't yet returned to training - as they aren't permitted to - Kelly said the morale hasn't dropped at all and his men are keen to pick up where they left off as they'd gathered some momentum in the pre-season.
"We're still eager and keen to go," he said.
"It's been a bit hard not training as we were starting to look good as see some really good numbers before the virus stopped everything."
When asked how he thought his players would cope with the break fitness-wise, the answer favoured some of the team's more youthful recruits.
"I think some of the younger blokes will just keep their normal fitness but a few of us older, less fit blokes won't handle the training or playing as much," he said.
"We're all missing it and keen to get out and have a run around. Everyone's missing the game and I'm finding it hard not training 2-3 nights a week or getting prepared for games on Saturdays.
"By the time the season comes around we'll all have to hit the ground running."
They'll be hitting the ground running with a few fresh faces and after touting his squad as one that's got a lot of young talent in the lead-up to the season, Kelly didn't back away from those claims and circled a pair of up and comers to look out for come July.
"Josh Farr will be a great addition in the nine jersey for us. He's had a few years away from the game," he said.
"Jack Connors in the back row will be good too, he's a solid ball runner."
"It'll just be good for the community to have some footy played again as I'm pretty sure everyone's going insane without sport."
Orange Barbarians will know more about their 2020 prospects after Group 10's board meeting on Wednesday night.
