The pre-race buzz before Friday's $31,500 Inland Digital Cup Day Sprint (1000m) was all about Greg McFarlane's Golden Tycoon as the four-year-old gelding was crunched from $5 to $3.40 in the hours leading up to the race.

Was the market movement justified? You bet.
Champion country hoop Greg Ryan rode the Gosford-based horse to its first win since March 2019, making it three wins on-the-trot for the 54-year-old veteran jockey at Towac Park during Friday's showcase meeting.
He'd previously rode Bjorn Baker's Moon Panthers and Gary Portelli's Extreme Jewel to victories.
Finishing second and third in the sprint was Pleasant ($6) and Another Sin ($6.50), and coming in at fourth was Alison Smith's Absolute Ripper, the Orange stable's legendary mare finishing a whisker short of a top-three coup after a hotly contested final furlong.
As she so often does, Absolute Ripper jumped fast and maintained a comfortable position throughout the race and was as good a chance as any to claim top prize when the horses came around the bend.
Golden Tycoon held a half-length lead to Absolute Ripper after the turn but as the post got closer, the cream rose to the top with Greg McFarlane getting the chocolates by a length and fighting off a fast-finishing Pleasant who came from the back of the pack to score second.
Also competing for Smith was Panaura who was riding a streak of five, top-three finishes in-a-row but battled among class on Friday, failing to make its mark on the point end of the pack after getting off to a fast start.
