Many people who were looking to take part in the Relay for Life are at high risk of coronavirus.
The Cancer Council has launched Hope at Home, which is aimed at allowing those who've lost loved ones a chance to remember them from their own home by lighting candles, be it on the mantelpiece or in the front window, on April 29.
Cancer Cancel NSW community communications coordinator Bree Kelly said it was part of the effort to continue supporting people affected by cancer even during coronavirus shutdowns and "bring our relay and wider community together in these uncertain times while raising vital funds".
"Cancer patients across NSW need help now more than ever," she said.
"They need help to get to their treatment or stay nearby.
"They need emotional support from trained counsellors, clear information about their diagnosis, and access to emergency financial payments."
The candle pack can be purchased online for $25 at give.cancercouncil.com.au/hopeathome.
