A MAN who was found hiding in a roof cavity has been charged with a range of offences, with police confirming he was wanted on six outstanding warrants.

On April 6, officers from the Central North Police District commenced inquiries after receiving information that a 28-year-old man had failed to appear in Bourke Local Court regarding multiple matters.
Warrants were issued for his arrest and following inquiries, with assistance from the proactive crime team and rural crime prevention team, a search warrant was executed at house on Denman Street in Bourke, at 2.50pm on Saturday, April 11.
Upon entry, police will allege the 28-year-old man hid from police in a roof cavity, before he was arrested a short time later and taken to Bourke Police Station.
During the search, police located more than 150 rounds of ammunition.
The man was charged with six outstanding warrants relating to property, firearm, fraud, traffic and breach of bail offences.
He was refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court via AVL on Sunday.
Central North Police District Commander, Superintendent Andrew Hurst, thanked the community for their assistance.
Police also issued a 68-year-old man in the home with a Future Court Attendance Notice for breach of a Firearms Prohibition Order and will appear in court at a date to be determined.
"We acknowledge the support shown by the Bourke community in providing information which led to this search warrant,"Superintendent Hurst said.
"If any member of the community has information relating to illegal activity, contact your local police station or Crime Stoppers."
