An 18-year-old man will face court following an alleged attempted armed robbery from a Moulder Street shop.

Just after 12 noon on Saturday the man, allegedly armed with a knife, entered a shop on Moulder Street and spoke with a staff member on duty.

Officers from Central West Police District allege the man threatened the employee with the knife demanding cigarettes.Police were called to the location a short time later and arrested the 18-year-old.
He was taken to Orange police station and charged with armed robbery.
He appeared in court on Sunday and was refused bail, to reappear in the same court on May 11.
A knife has been seized for forensic examination.
