Charles Sturt University is running free 90-minute information nights across its campuses.
The Orange event will be held at the CSU campus on Tuesday March 10 at 5.30pm for a 6pm start.
The dean of the School of Rural Medicine Professor Lesley Forster said prospective students could learn about the benefits of studying in a rural environment.
"The School of Rural Medicine will change the way medicine is taught and practised in country Australia by training doctors in the bush, for practice in the bush," she said.
"A critical element of this process is recruiting students who will respond well to being taught in a supportive environment which includes start-of-the-art teaching facilities, small class sizes and and a personalised teaching approach."
Work is underway to build the new school for the first cohort in 2021.
