A man has appeared in Orange Local Court for hitting his now former wife in the face and threatening to kill her if she called police.

The 66-year-old man from Morobe Place, is not named to protect the identity of the victim, who he was in a relationship with for 36 years.
According to police the man was intoxicated when he started an argument with the woman about 9pm on November 21, 2019.
The woman ran around the kitchen table to get away from him but he blocked her with a chair and hit her in the face three times with his right hand causing pain, swelling and bruising as well as cuts to her nose because she was wearing glasses.
He then smashed a dinner plate and said, "you call the cops and I'll f***ing kill you".
The woman contacted police and as they were leading the man out their body-worn cameras recorded him saying to the woman, "I'll f***king kill you ... I will kill you".
Solicitor Mason Manwaring said the man had completed the Magistrates Early Intervention into Treatment program and the couple had since separated.
The man was given a 12-month Community Correction Order and $1100 fine for assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He was given the same sentence for intimidation.
For smashing the plate he was fined $330.
