It's set to combine with humid air throughout much of NSW, with the main storm cells predicted to generate over Orange.
Goulburn and Parkes are other centres likely to be impacted.
Orange is forecast to be a 70 per cent chance of rain on Sunday.
The State Emergency Service says it's best residents move cars under cover or away from trees, and try to secure or put away loose items around the house, yard and balcony.
The next warning is due to be issued by 6:05 pm.
