Mielke came to the crease with the score at 1-11 in his side's chase and was still there when the final runs were hit, with his tally left just short of a century.

Stedman was dismissed shortly after Mielke, and Shaun Churchill not long after that on 30, but a 115-run stand between the number three and Troy O'Keefe (51) formed the backbone of City's chase.

Meanwhile in the other Pool A game Damien Caughlan and Nat Gander's quickfire 48 and 47 respectively put Centrals' target of 6-184 out of reach of CYMS Bourkes.

Abhilash Kaithamangalathu took three wickets and hit 54 in a rearguard effort for CYMS, but it didn't prove enough as they were all-out for 172 in the final over.

Meanwhile, Spring Hill racked up a 10-wicket win and five wicket win over Central White and CYMS Kellys respectively, with the sides each playing two games on Saturday.

Kellys had proven too strong for Cavaliers earlier in the day, but Cavs bounded back against Centrals White.
