Mr Sinclair, a long-time farmer at Dubbo, says his personal documentation is evidence enough the drought is, as he says, a "recurring pattern" every 12 years or so and not simply a product of "climate change".

But, Mr Sinclair's views are at odds with a myriad of scientific peer-reviewed studies that claim climate-warming trends over the past century are likely due to human activities.

The optimistic grazier was going through his old work documents, put together by his wife for farming-related purposes, that revealed the amount of rainfall they got out at their farm every-year since 1983 to present.

"In the next six weeks we will get good widespread rain," Mr Sinclair said.

If Mr Sinclair's predictions come to fruition, it'll be music to the ears of Orange residents that just last week were warning Orange City Council plans on bringing in Level 6 water restrictions come May 1, if the city's water storages receive no significant inflows.

"We've already seen the change over a couple of days and that wasn't forecasted either," Mr Sinclair said referring to the rainfall we had to start 2020.

"The pattern shows, and the fact that there has been a cyclone pattern active in Broome, Western Australia, that it's history repeating itself.

"I've been a farmer my whole life, I've taken notice, the rain will come. I've just got a feeling.

"In 1994 I recorded that we had 286.0 millimetres of rain, in 2006 we had 284.0, in 2019 we had 273.50. That shows a drought roughly around every 12-ish years on average."

Mr Sinclair steadfastly believes, "The rain will come."

"In 1995, after the 1994 drought, we recorded 621.0 millimetres of rain. In 2007 after the 2006 drought we recorded 642.75 millimetres of rain. When I had a farm in Minore, I remember we had a three-year drought in 1981 until 1983, and another three-year drought again in 1992 to 1994," he said.

"Another bad year for us was 1975. I remember my cattle were eating bark off the tree's to stay alive. So we've always had the dry weather."

Mr Sinclair also believes his documentation reveals "there will be widespread flooding for Australia in the next couple of years".

"Look out. The rain will come. There will be floods in the next few years for sure."
