Colleen Dorn Ford, 59, of Byng Street, crashed on July 8 in Summer Street East after losing control while turning from McLachlan Street.
When emergency services arrived Ford was still in her car with the engine running.
Further emergency services were called because her door would not open trapping her in the car.
Once she was removed from the car she was taken to Orange hospital where a blood test was taken.
Solicitor Simeon Miller said Ford was drinking at home after being the victim of "an unprovoked assault".
"Her decision making went under the bus due to the alcohol," Mr Miller said.
"She went to KFC to get some dinner."
Mr Miller said because Ford was charged with drink driving she could not use insurance to pay for $2000 worth of damage to one of the cars.
"Her vehicle was a 2013 Mazda 3 purchased new, it was a write off," he said.
"This accident has cost her $22,000."
Magistrate David Day said prior to the crash Ford had a spotless driving record and she had completed the Traffic Offenders Intervention Program.
Ford was placed on a six-month community correction order, was disqualified from driving for three months and was placed on a 12-month interlock order.
