After a swashbuckling ton in last weekend's Western Zone Under-18 Carnival Hugh Middleton was a given to land a spot for this summer's McDonald's Country Cricket NSW Colts Championship, where he'll be joined by three of his Orange teammates.

Middleton was named in Western Zone's side for next month's carnival at Bathurst alongside Bluebaggers skipper Lachlan Coyte, Harry McGregor and Blake Weymouth, although no more of Orange's title-winning stars were named.
Although he was considered all but an automatic selection anyway Middleton's massive knock of 132 against Dubbo last weekend and his six wickets over the carnival cemented his spot.
Coyte also banged out a half-ton that day while Weymouth and McGregor were quiet by their usual lofty standards, but were shown faith by selectors based on their past exploits.
Despite Orange's triumph the side is brimming with beaten Bathurst players, while Tanvir Singh and Ben Mitchell were both named despite shifting to Sydney to play this summer. The Zone is allowed to select two players formerly of the region.
Dubbo's Brock Larance will skipper the side, which takes on North Coastal in the championship-opener on December 16.
- WESTERN ZONE: Brock Larance (captain), Ben Wheeler, Tom Coady (Dubbo), Lachlan Coyte, Hugh Middleton, Blake Weymouth, Harry McGregor (Orange), Jack Goodsell, Ben Mitchell, Tanvir Singh, Ethan Muller, Bailey Brien, Cooper Brien (Bathurst)
