Police stopped Shannon Marie Press, 31, of Currong Crescent, on August 11 and gave her an infringement notice for driving when she did not have a driver's licence.
Her P1 licence had expired in 2015 and was not renewed.
She was stopped again on August 15 on Bathurst Road, and said she was taking children to school after they missed their bus and she didn't have another way to get them to school.
Press represented herself in court and said she had a six-month driving disqualification but she wasn't aware that the Roads and Maritime Services added an extra three-month driving ban.
"I wasn't aware that I wasn't allowed to drive," Press said.
For the offence of August 15 she was convicted, given a 12-month community release order and her licence was disqualified for three months.
