Tight Socceroos clicking quickly: Grant

Australia have banked three straight wins leading into their away match with Jordan in Amman at 6pm on Thursday (3am AEDT on Friday).

The Socceroos have scored 15 goals and conceded just one on their current winning streak.

Coach Graham Arnold has previously put his side's form down to getting a proper break after a tiring stretch that included both a World Cup and an Asian Cup.

But Grant believes the familiarity of the young side, many of whom are either old school mates or have played together in the past, has helped them click quickly, despite their lack of playing time together in recent years.

"No matter who comes in we always play well and I think that's one of the best things about coming into the national team. Everyone sort of knows each other from the past or are good mates, or haven't seen each other for a while," he told AAP.

"It's always great coming in and seeing the boys again or catching up with people you haven't seen.

"So there's a great tight-knit group and everyone gets along really well, as Aussies like to do."

The Sydney FC defender said his national teammates' familiarity with each other perfectly complements Arnold's style and the culture he's trying to instil.

"That's sort of reflected in the last couple of games where we've had some good results and big wins and it definitely builds a bit of confidence going forward," he said.

Grant himself has been a standout performer of the campaign, assisting Jamie Maclaren in a 5-0 thrashing of Nepal in Canberra and teeing up both Jackson Irvine and Adam Taggart in Australia's 7-1 demolition of Taiwan.

He's also scored a goal and made an assist in the three A-League games he's played for Sydney FC this season.

Grant fully intends to put more goals on a plate for his Socceroos teammates if given the chance by Arnold and Jordan's defence on Thursday night.

"But I'm really just happy to be part of the set up here and just take it as it comes at the moment, it's such a privilege to play for Australia and be amongst the national team," the defender said.

"I just enjoy that and if I get a chance to play and do my best then that's exactly what I'll do and hopefully I'll have an impact in any way - whether it's assists or just doing my job as a defender and as a right back."
