Police are investigating what caused a heavy vehicle carrying sheep to roll near Bathurst on Tuesday.

At about 10.10am a B-Double stock truck carrying 551 sheep overturned on the O'Connell Road at O'Connell, near 8 Mile Swamp Road.
Officers attached to Chifley Police District responded to the incident, along with NSW Fire Brigade, State Emergency Services, a local vet, Local Land Services staff and council road crews.
As a result, approximately 225 sheep were reported deceased or required to be euthanised.
The 25-year-old male driver was not injured and returned a negative road side breath test.
No charges have been laid at this stage.
