The club formed a committee on its second attempt last Thursday, Christie-Johnston's re-election set to stretch his tenure in the top job at Tigerland out to a decade next year.

He'll be joined by Neil O'Grady (secretary), club stalwart Peter Hotham (treasurer) and Peter Austin (registrar) as the bones of the club's 2020 committee, while Zac Rowlandson has accepted the crucial role of football manager in charge of recruitment and retention.

The election of those office bearers means the Tigers will play on next season but in what capacity that is still remains unclear.

Oberon battled player numbers this season and Christie-Johnston says if player interest doesn't increase then the black and golds might be forced into a second division competition.

"We have a functioning committee but we just need to see where we are and at what level of commitment Oberon will enter into for the 2020 season," Christie-Johnston said.

"Oberon's got a lot of supporters for rugby league but we struggle with number bases through all grades in the Group 10 competition.

"The follow on effect from that is that you struggle to maintain a stable committee."

Oberon has previously played in the old mid-west competition, a premiership that requires participating clubs to field just one senior men's team and a women's league tag side.

If the Tigers were to again nominate for Group 10, the club would need to fill three senior men's teams - premier league, first division and under 18s - and at least one women's league tag side.

The 2019 Group 10 premiership had two women's league tag grades, with an under 18s competition forming, although it's not a requirement for all teams.

Christie-Johnston said the Tigers, probably more than any club given the size of the town, battle with poor player numbers regularly.

But Oberon has a proud history of being able to step up and compete with Group 10's larger centres, and the Tigers boss was hopeful that'll continue in 2020.

"We've got a call to arms for a pre-registration expression of interest for all players across every grade and for support staff," Christie-Johnson added.

"That will be held 6pm on Wednesday night at the Oberon Rugby League ground."
