Speakers from Central Tablelands Water and Orange City Council will address the meeting organised by the Environmentally Concerned Citizens of Orange.
ECCO president Neil Jones said the public was invited to the free entry forum. Bookings are not required.
"It is very important for the community to hear first hand from organisations which are directly responsible for providing and managing local water supply systems," he said.
"Recent public concern over the availability of water to meet the often competing needs for urban, mining, industry, agriculture, horticulture and the environment, and the current water restrictions, has prompted ECCO to arrange for the presentation of factual information on water security for the region."
He said council staff would outline the water supply situation and strategies in place for the future.
A CTW official would explain its role in the supply of water to the region.
The meeting is at the Environmental Learning Facility at the Orange Showground from 7.30pm.
