Press Box has given Bathurst trainer Dean Mirfin some amazing memories in her short stint in his stables, and he has reason to be confident his mare will deliver her memorable performance yet in The Kosciuszko at Royal Randwick.

Press Box has hovered around the $26 mark for the $1.3 million run - the richest country-restricted race on the planet - making her a mid-market chance although she's still considered an outsider, with defending champion Belflyer also marked there.
Belflyer won last year's title at more than 50-to-one on a sodden Randwick track and even that win is enough to give Mirfin hope, as is the fact she'll only lug 53 kilograms, the lightest load she's had in her short but successful career.
She's going there at the right time ... she might surprise a few people.

Since the jump across to Mirfin's stable Press Box has won five of six races and charged home in the inaugural The Panorama at Bathurst last-start, her only miss has been a close third in a Highway Handicap at Randwick. She's also drawn barrier three.
"I think her price is a fair assessment, " Mirfin said, with Country Championship-winner Victorem the market favourite at $2.50.
"There's horses in the race who have superior form compared to her but it doesn't mean we go there not thinking that we're a chance in the race, because she's a mare who's shown great form and has been very lightly raced.
"She's got no weight, which is good, and she's only a small horse. And some of those better chances will have larger weights.
"Before I'd got her she'd run some placings in Sydney as well so she's used to that kind of level. Her run at the Highway race was good because she wasn't at her peak then and she needed the run that day.
"She's going there at the right time with two races and a barrier trial under her belt. Her future is very bright. She might surprise a few people."
This will be Mirfin's second time at a feature Randwick carnival in the space of two years after Cosmologist contested the Country Championships final in 2018.
But this race comes with nearly three times the prizemoney, plus the sweepstakes factor to the entry process, which brings it to a whole new level for the Bathurst trainer.
"It's exciting times. We're just trying to keep a lid on that and keep the routine going for the horse as normally as possible," Mirfin said.
"It's a really unique situation to be in, going for this sort of prizemoney against country horses. It's a rare opportunity.
"With the Country Championships there's multiple horses who get their opportunity in every area but this one's quite select so we're lucky to be there. It does add to the excitement."
The Kosciuszko is scheduled to jump at 2.50pm on Saturday afternoon in the lead-up to The Everest.
