After standing on the outside for what seemed like an eternity as the speculation continued to swirl, the iconic Australian band was finally this week confirmed as the headline act at the 2020 A Day on the Green, to be staged at Heifer Station.
They'll be joined by Birds of Tokyo and Magic Dirt for the February 1 show which is expected to draw a crowd of over 8000 people.
What a win for the city.
Any time there's an event that's going to draw visitors to the region, it's huge news for Orange and in this case the surrounding towns.
There's no doubt the Chisel fans will flock to the colour city from as far as Bow River and Bourke as we prepare for the biggest concert Orange has staged in the last decade.
If the response to our coverage of the announcement online is anything to go by Heifer Station will be inundated, as will our city's hotels, cafes, restaurants and pubs which is just as good as listening to Barnesy belt out a bit of Flame Trees.
It's sure to be a Saturday night to savour.
