Dignitaries, local service people and clinicians gathered at the venue to enjoy a low-key evening of music and food to celebrate.
NSW Minister for Mental Health, Regional Youth and Women, Bronnie Taylor gave an address via video link from Parliament House.
The Centre for Rural and Remote Mental Health director, Professor David Perkins, and The Land editor Andrew Norris spoke of the success of the guide over the past eight years and the need for more work to be done in suicide prevention.
They're able to explain what they went through, when they realised they needed help, and then explain where they found it and how that's been working for them
- Andrew Norris
Mr Norris said what's great about the stories is the people who have shared what they've been through have the benefit of hindsight.
"They're able to explain what they went through, when they realised they needed help, and then explain where they found it and how that's been working for them," he said.
"The guide also includes a heap of info and contacts about the different places you can get help - whether you're the one that's struggling, or if you need help to support somebody else."

Central West region Rural Adversity Mental Health Program co-ordinator Di Gill, who has been at the centre for almost 13 years, told of how useful the guide is during her work in the community.
The guide is available in this week's edition of The Land, or, if you can't get to your local newsagent, further copies are available via the Centre for Rural and Remote Mental Health.
