While breeding numbers and participation levels are not what they were in greyhound racing's halcyon days of the 1960's and 70's, it's always taken genuine quality to snare the big prize.
In 1990, inaugural Golden Easter Egg winner Elite Sense commenced her career with an all-the-way win in Dapto's prestigious maiden.
Four heats are scheduled for the Showgrounds track and one of the leading lights will be Zipping Browny (My Bro Fabio - Zipping Midge) in heat one (Race 2 at 7.43pm).
The juvenile posted a cracking 24.87 seconds in his only public trial at Goulburn on August 15 and, while new to the Dapto circuit, box one is a real plus. At Goulburn, he ran through the line over 440m to score by just on five lengths and the step to 520m looks an ideal progression.
Not only is the December 2017 puppy one to watch in this series, he's a potential star in the making. On breeding alone (mum won the Group 1 National Futurity at Wentworth Park in 2015) a lot is expected but there's little doubt he has the 'engine' to match his pedigree.
