The defending Woodbridge Cup league tag champions, Regan's girls will line-up at Condobolin on Sunday in this year's major semi-final against Grenfell primed to play their best footy at the right time of the season.
Regan says Cargo has battled injury all year and with a host of players now back on deck the premiers are, as he puts it, building nicely ahead of the biggest games of the season.
Like most finals it's about winning the possession ... if we can do that we know we're in the game.
- Cargo coach Anthony Regan.
"I think our best games are ahead of us," Regan said.
"We've been building really well. We've had a few key positional changes this year but over the last five or six weeks everyone is starting to play well in their new spots now.
"We're all starting to get used to the new areas."
Which will be key.
Regan says the 2019 league tag title race is as open as ever, with Grenfell set to pose an extremely tough assignment for the Blue Heelers on Sunday.
The Cargo mentor knows both Manildra and Condobolin - opponents in Saturday's minor semi-final - are also far from easy-beats.
"Grenfell's well balanced, Condo has a lot of natural footballers and that's hard to defend against and Manildra has some great defenders, and obviously relies a bit of Molly too," Regan said, touching on the potency of Rhinos fullback Molly Hoswell.
"But for us, like most finals it's about winning the possession, and being great in defence. We try and focus on winning the sets. If we can do that we know we're in the game."
The Woodbridge Cup's finals head to Condobolin and Grenfell this weekend.
