Woolworths has formed a partnership with Share the Dignity to provide pads and tampons to women experiencing poverty.
According to Share the Dignity, more than half of the 3.2 million Australians living below the poverty line are women and young girls, with many struggling to afford sanitary products.
Throughout August, the charity has called on Orange shoppers to buy a sanitary product for someone in need, alongside every purchase they make for their home.
I've heard of young girls being too embarrassed to go to school because they can't afford products and homeless women using newspaper or toilet paper

These donations can be dropped off at a Woolworths supermarket collection point and Share the Dignity volunteers will deliver the sanitary products to Orange charities.
Volunteer Symone Mei said she got involved because she believes in women empowering women.
Ms Mei said period poverty is a much larger problem than people are aware of.
"It's massive Australia wide," she said.
"I've heard of young girls being too embarrassed to go to school because they can't afford products and homeless women using newspaper or toilet paper."
Ms Mei said the initiative is about giving dignity back.
"For women to have access to sanitary products is a right, not a privilege."
Since forming the partnership earlier this year, Woolworths has donated five cents from every pack of sanitary items sold, including pads, tampons, liners or period briefs, across its stores nationally.
Funds donated so far will be used to purchase 30 vending machines which dispense free period packs to women in domestic violence refuges, homelessness hubs and schools.
