One of CYMS' two 2019 losses came at the hands of Souths back in May - a "pretty poor" performance as Shea put it - and Saturday's 2-nil win righted the wrongs from that defeat, and combined with Bathurst St Pat's win over Lithgow Panthers it increased the Orange side's buffer at the top by two points.
Some might suggest all eyes now shift to CYMS' final-round showdown with the third-placed Panthers, but the Orange side could well wrap up the minor prize the week before that against Lithgow Zig Zag.
CYMS host Zig Zag following this weekend's general bye and despite St Pat's having a substantially easier draw, a victory would all but assure them of top spot thanks to their super goal difference.

Assuming St Pat's knock off Ex-Services and then Souths, even if CYMS were to drop their final round game against Lithgow that goal difference should be enough to get them over the line.
While they'd finish locked on 44 points with the Saints in that situation, CYMS' goal difference is currently nine goals better than St Pat's, the latter side would have to produce some incredibly potent attacking performances to make that up.
CYMS' win over Souths was far from easy, the latter side having plenty of possession but being unable to penetrate as effectively.
Georgie Watson and Kayla Russell found the back of the net for CYMS to secure the win.
