While James 'Tiger Teddy' Tedesco was breaking the Maroons' hearts the Wednesday Night Mixed Squash Competition's semi finals were being played out.
Team 1 Elliot had some nervous moments before booking their place in the final with were wins for Chris Doucas, Chris Elkington, John Hannan, Katie Hailes, Matt Wilson and Steve Blackwood.
Steve 'Rooster' Elliot came back from 2-nil down to win in five while twinkle toes Robert Ryan snatched defeat from the jaws of victory after his opponent King Kial Huysmans saved thirteen match points to win in five games.
Jesse Keegan was struck down with man-flu so his team was very nervous when his replacement Grant Michell was named, but they needn't have worried with Grant playing great for a 3-1 upset victory over a flat Toby Baker.
Team 2 Atkinson will be their opponents after they demolished Team 5 Bigg with wins for a ruthless Glenn Atkinson, Scott Baker, Kynan Baker, Lawry Brayne, Dave Neil, Kym Knight and Steve Blackwood won again.
Steve Bigg fought and clawed his way to a memorable 3-2 victory against Lindsay Mahlo. Judd Felsher was a bit of an unknown heading into this season but he is now known as the only person who could beat Brock 'The Cannon' Gannon.
Brock had a dream start to the season going through the rounds undefeated but semi-finals can have an amazing effect on a players nerves and this seemed to be the case with Judd playing settled length and lovely touch to pull off a huge upset, winning 3-2.
