When asked what people thought was missing from Orange's retail sector there are a number of items which generally make the list.
Good-quality work clothes, unusual yet affordable children's clothing, designer shoe brands and household furnishings often top the list of items shoppers would like to see more of.
That's not to say Orange doesn't have stores stocking all of these items, it just means people are lamenting a lack of choice.
Online sales are increasingly impacting our retailers' ability to remain viable.
People jump online and have all the choices in the world. Literally.
However when you shop online there's no customer service and trying an item before you buy it is just not possible.
While you're not always able to find the items you want in store, the majority of retailers are happy to order items in for you.
At a time when we know the challenges facing our retailers why not go that extra mile to support them?
While we're being encouraged to help the retail sector by using the newly-announced $1080 boost contained in the Coalition's tax cuts legislation why not go even further and pledge to spend this bonus money locally?
