Despite a strong showing for the under-12s, Orange Netball Associations's hopes at the Netball NSW HART Junior State Titles didn't quite go to plan across the weekend.
The under-12s enjoyed the most success at the carnival, racking up eight wins, nine losses and a draw to finish 11th on the table out of 19 sides in division two, but the two older age groups at the championship struggled on the scoresheet.
The under-13s and under-14s didn't have the results go their way, with both sides only recording a win each at state championships.
The under-13s had three draws to go with their win to finish with five points and 17th out of 19 sides, while the next age up only finished with the two points from their one win.
ONA vice-president and under 13s coach Michelle Turner said while it was a little disappointing for the girls to come away without as many wins as they'd like, they still kept going.
"I know every coach says this but they never gave up, they never stopped trying," she said.
"The results didn't reflect the amount of skill or effort that went in."
Both the two older sides were also heavily hit by injury, with the two sides bringing an 11th player for injury cover.
However, the under-12s managed a 15-13 win over eventual fourth-placed Hastings Valley, and also quashed Bathurst 9-5, finishing one point above the Central West rivals to drive the victory home, too.
The side drew with Blue Mountains and also racked up wins over Woy Woy, Parramatta, Shoalhaven, Barrellan, Nambucca Valley and Queanbeyan.
