Clarke was under the knife on Monday and Blue Heelers captain-coach Anthony Redfern said the Cargo half would likely be home this week, but his 2019 season is over.
As he's done all season, Clarke was starring for the Heelers and had crossed for his side's two tries and with the score at 10-all, again, threatened the line.
He darted through but was brought down by Boomers stand-in skipper Adam Hall, sustaining a break and forcing play to a halt.
He's got players player for us every week and was on track for that again.

"I don't think he'll be back," Redfern said, before looking back at the incident.
"There was nothing in the tackle, he was all but going to score and Hally got him around the legs and he pulled up short.
"We were right there until then. It was a pretty big turning point. He's got players player for us every week and was on track for that again."
The break in play allowed Trundle to regain the ascendancy and the Boomers were able to overcome a spirited Cargo and a one-man disadvantage to secure a 22-10 victory.

The 12-point win ensures the Boomers maintain their unbeaten run at the top of the 2019 Woodbridge Cup at the half-way point of the season.
The Boomers had to fight back from a 10-0 deficit after the visiting Heelers skipped out to a 10-0 lead on the back of a quick-fire double to Matt Clarke before hooker Connor Farrer was sent off for his part in a scuffle, leading the hosts to play the final 60 minutes of the game with 12 men at Berryman Oval.
The Boomers broke through just before half-time though, Ryan Porter scooping up a loose ball and racing in his side's first try of the game, Adam Hall's conversion making it 10-6 at the break.
Trundle threw caution to the wind early in the second half and the free-flowing attacking move paid dividends with a try to Pat Jones on the 50th minute mark, locking up the scores at 10-all.
Following the break in play for Clarke's injury, the hosts ran in three tries - Porter's second and then through Hall and Jake Harvey, the latter's right on fulltime.
In other games to wrap up the first round, Canowindra stormed to a 50-22 victory over Eugowra and Grenfell also cracked the half-century in a high-scoring, 50-36 win over Condobolin. Manildra edged out Molong by two points in a tough encounter while Peak Hill had the bye.
In league tag Canowindra won 34-4 over Eugowra, Grenfell inflicted Condobolin with their second loss in as many weeks via a 24-14 result, Manildra won comfortably 26-4 over Molong and competition leaders Cargo scored a 22-4 victory over Trundle.
In youth league, Trundle won 34-20 over a Cargo side short on players and Manildra won 30-20 over Molong.
