Farren Lamb's making a habit of landing one-point daggers but the in-form Oberon Tigers half says this week is about more than just winning.

Lamb was the hero for Forbes in the 2018 Group 11 grand final when he potted the winning field goal in a 23-22 grand final triumph over Dubbo CYMS and then proved it was no fluke last Sunday when he nailed another match-winner in a 27-26 Tigers win over Cowra.
The 19-year-old pivot was one of the more hyped pre-season transfers across the division and, much like his Oberon side, has taken time to find his feet in the 2019 Group 10 title race.
Three wins in their last four games and last week's match-winning field goal indicate both Lamb and the Tigers are heading firmly in the right direction and that upward trajectory is tipped to continue in Blayney this week.
But the trip to King George Oval is, for Lamb, about much more than footy.
The former Red Bend student will for the first time play against his uncle Steve Lane, a wily premiership-winning half steering the Bears around the park.
The Goodooga product is expecting a bus load of family and friends to make the trip from the Barwon Darling stronghold for Sunday's game, one Lamb says will be a special one for he and the family.
We know we can stick it with the best. We just have to cut out the errors.
- Oberon Tigers five-eighth Farren Lamb.
Just don't expect any favours from uncle Steve.
"I've already told him he needs to keep his eyes out for me. I'll get him at some point," Lane laughed.
"Everyone else has been talking about it but it's just another game to me."
Lamb admitted he's not seen a lot of his uncle play but says he's looking forward to the Blayney game, one that also includes his cousin Robert Lane.
"One will get me," Lamb laughed.
Of course, they do have to catch him first - something a few sides in Group 10 are working out can be quite difficult to do.
Especially with the game on the line.
Lamb's field goal last week helped the Tigers to a third win from the opening seven rounds of the season.
Josh Starling's Tigers have also lost three games, but none of those defeats have been by more than six points, Lamb quick to add if Oberon can limit the "little lapses" they go through every game than those close losses will inevitably turn into wins as well.
We're trying to build something for next year. We've played good football but it's in patches.
- Blayney veteran Steve Lane.
"We get in the grind and then for 20 minutes we don't play, and that kills us. But we're starting to find form," he added.
"It's a young squad but we want to be up there. We know we can stick it with the best. We just have to cut out the errors."
Lane said the winless Bears are also making plenty of strides and, at the age of 41, the veteran playmaker is confident of helping the club to a couple of wins in 2019.
"It's funny, I wasn't planning on playing this year. I chased a few clubs for Farren and spoke to a few about him and we picked Oberon for him," Lane said.
"But I got a phone call form Blayney and thought I'd help them out a bit.
"We're trying to build something for next year. We've played good football but it's in patches.
"We're confident after last week and I think we're improving each week."
Oberon travels to Blayney for Sunday's game, with premier league scheduled to kick-off at 1.40pm.
