And their three new signings - Kevin Murray (Moore Park), Max Gay (Yanco-Wamoon) and Louis Murphy (Walgett) - have all played their part since signing with club in the off-season according to Panthers skipper Doug Hewitt, ahead of Sunday's game against Lithgow.

"Kevin has probably been the standout [signing] so far. He's just brought a lot of energy, a real electric player," he said.

"He's a bloke that create something from nothing. He's fitted into the club quite well and has secured his spot on the left edge. He's really dangerous when we put it together, a really exciting strike weapon."

Gay, who joined Panthers after spending time with Group 20 outfit Yanco-Wamoon, has been a versatile inclusion to the team.

"You kind of forget that he's small, but he's playing well above his weight," he said.

"I've actually been playing him in lock and utility. He hasn't let us down, more than willing to put his body on the line and go where ever you need him. He's one of those blokes that can play three or four different positions.

"You bring him off the bench, he's quick off his feet. He can play lock, second row, centre."

Murphy has struggled with a hand injury, after featuring in the opening rounds for Panthers, but Hewitt has still be impressed by the Walgett recruit.

"He's had problems with his hand, breaking it a while ago, needing to put a wire in it before the start of the season," he said.

"He's in the similar bout at as Kevin, that's he's fast in open spaces. He's been making massive metres and taken pressure off the forwards."

Murphy has been name on wing, while Murray will start as centre for Sunday's game.

Gay, as of Friday morning, has not been named in the game which will kick-off at Carrington Park at 2.15pm.

Lithgow have named veteran Jono Van Veen in the halves, while former St Pat's coach Greg Behan will start at prop.
