The students are undefeated through the opening six rounds of the New Holland Agriculture Cup season, and are obvious favourites this weekend as a result.
Last week's 11-nil win over Blayney was far from perfect, and Burrell says his side's aware they can't show that kind of complacency against a big Wombats' pack, nor for the remainder of the season either.
"Mudgee has probably been the one team over the past few seasons that's really troubled us," he said.
"Mudgee's forward pack is really good. We have to step up because Mudgee always give us a good contest.
Everyone wants to play for everyone so despite all the changes it seems to work.
- Marcus Burell
"We've got to start playing teams in the way we want to play, and not off their merit. I think we were lazy last week, made too many mistakes and were probably a bit too confident."
Burrell believes, despite the chopping and changing, the team are able to work well as a unit.
"The general consensus for what we've got up there is really good," he said.
"We've had changes week in and week out but with what the coaches have got planned for the year it's really working for us. Everyone wants to play for everyone so despite all the changes it seems to work.
"The effort at training is another big thing for us. The extra work that we've got to put in, and the belief the coaches have instilled in us, is massive.
"The focus is on getting the little one per centers right on the field and not having many lapses."
Lachie Buckton moves up to the front-row and Kam Norris jumps from No.8 to take his place at lock.
Regan Hughes comes back into the starting side, pushing Nick Greenberg onto the wing again and Mathew Brouff back to his originally fullback position.
CSU will be hungry to celebrate Super Saturday with a win, Saturday brings together members of all the university's major sporting clubs to cheer each other on at events.
